PowerROC T35: Enhanced Efficiency and Performance with Epiroc’s Next-Gen Drill Rig

Epiroc has introduced an upgraded PowerROC T35, a next-generation surface drill rig aimed at the global quarrying and construction markets. This new model, touted as Epiroc’s most fuel-efficient PowerROC rig to date, enhances productivity and cuts operational costs significantly. “The latest PowerROC T35 is a leap forward in fuel efficiency,” explains Masanori Kogushi, Epiroc’s Senior Product Manager for Surface Division. This upgraded model promises lower fuel consumption and improved operational speed.

Optimized Performance and Fuel Savings

This advanced rig includes key features that bring both fuel efficiency and operational speed to new levels. Compared to its predecessor, the new PowerROC T35 consumes up to 40% less fuel, thanks to an automatic engine speed control that adjusts engine power as needed for each operation. Additionally, rod changing is 45% faster, reducing overall drill time and boosting productivity.

A user-friendly 12-inch touchscreen display provides operators with easy access to all critical data, simplifying the learning process for new operators and streamlining operations. Lever operations have been minimized by approximately 80%, offering a more intuitive experience. “The assisted control technology greatly enhances usability,” Kogushi adds.

Streamlined Maintenance and Lower Total Cost of Ownership

Maintenance on the PowerROC T35 has also been simplified, featuring a built-in troubleshooting function accessible via the touchscreen. The compact design includes a new hydraulic return filter, which reduces hydraulic oil requirements by 50%, while accessible service points and extended maintenance intervals contribute to a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Operator comfort has also been improved with ergonomic joystick controls and an enhanced air conditioning system, designed to maintain optimal cabin conditions.

Enhanced Drilling Capabilities with SC19 Rock Drill

Equipped with the COP SC19 rock drill, the PowerROC T35 operates at a 50 Hz frequency for high performance in hard rock. The dual damper in the SC19 model also increases energy efficiency, further enhancing the rig’s drilling capability.

Available with either a Tier 4 Final/Stage V or a Tier 3 engine, this advanced PowerROC T35 rig offers options to suit varying regulatory requirements and operational needs worldwide.
