Aldoro Resources, listed on the ASX, has announced a significant upgrade to the mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its 85%-owned Kameelburg rare earths project in Namibia. The company reported an 85% increase in inferred resources, bringing the total to 520-million tonnes grading 2.49% total rare earth oxides (TREO) equivalent. This major boost underscores the project’s status as a globally competitive rare earth asset with the potential to deliver long-term supply to international markets.

According to Aldoro, Phase 1 drilling has elevated Kameelburg to the ranks of world-class rare earth deposits. Notably, the updated MRE includes a high-grade zone of 271-million tonnes with an average grade of 2.9% TREO, positioning the project as one of the most promising sources of strategic minerals. The resource now hosts more than one-million tonnes of neodymium praseodymium (NdPr) and niobium pentoxide. With an NdPr ratio of 21%, the deposit stands at the upper end of global averages, far exceeding ionic clay deposits and placing it in the top quartile among hard-rock peers.

This ratio makes Kameelburg particularly attractive as magnet feedstock, a critical component in advanced technologies such as electric vehicles and renewable energy systems. Comparisons are already being drawn between the Namibian project and leading global assets, including the Niobec/Saint-Honoré rare earth carbonatite deposit in Quebec, Canada.

The resource remains open to the east, west, and at depth, suggesting that further exploration could unlock additional tonnage and grades. Aldoro plans to launch its Phase 2 drilling campaign in October, aimed at expanding the resource even further. The company will also begin geophysical and geochemical surveys on adjacent tenements to identify new high-grade rare earth targets.

With the latest update, Aldoro has confirmed Kameelburg as the largest rare earth and niobium project in Africa and among the top three globally. This milestone strengthens Namibia’s position as a key player in the global critical minerals supply chain, while offering Aldoro the opportunity to build lasting partnerships with strategic industries worldwide.
